There were many spectacular things that happened when Christ was born but amidst the ooohs and aaaah we sometimes overlook the fact that it all happened to ordinary people going about the ordinary business of everyday living.

What if instead of distracting us with consumerism and secularism, the icons and images of Christmas reminded us of  the true reason for the season.  What if everywhere we looked we saw something that drew us back into the narrative of the nativity?

What is the purpose of the church?  Why do I have to be part of a church?  Isn’t my relationship with God between God and me?  What is the church’s role in the modern world?

What is spiritual transformation?  How does it happen?  Is it something that happens to us or something we do for ourselves?
