The Magi followed the star to find the new King.  When they arrived they were overjoyed!  Can that same joy exist in our day to day lives?

The angels that visited the shepherds proclaimed “Peace on Earth”.  What exactly does that mean for us at the close of 2014?

Where is God?  Though at times we may think He far off, the Psalmist says, “The LORD is with me. His rod and His staff comfort me.”

What has God actually done?  Plenty, according to the Psalmist who responds by saying “Praise the LORD, O my soul;   all my inmost being, praise his holy name.”

Is God really there?  Is He actually paying attention?  Does He care what happens?  The Psalmist says “Where can I go from your Spirit?  Where can I flee from your presence?  Wherever I go, the LORD is there.”

Can God really help?  When times of trouble come where to you look for support and salvation?  The Psalmist says “I lift up my eyes to the hills where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD.”

What God Expects from You – Jesus tells a parable about the Rich Man and Lazarus (no relation) and illustrates for us what God’s expectations are for our priorities in this life.

What Others Expect from You – When Mary pours a bottle of expensive perfume on Jesus’ feet her actions do not meet everyone’s expectations of what she should be doing.

What You Expect from God – When Jesus delays his visit and Lazarus dies, Mary and Martha wrestle with their expectations of God.

What You Expect from Others – When Jesus comes to visit old friends things do not go as Martha expected
