One of the things that is notable about the ministry of Jesus is how often He put His own plans and desires on hold to meet the needs of others.  He calls his followers to give the same consideration to others.

Jesus came into a house and “it was heard that He was in the house.” Who were those who told others about Jesus being around? It was those who had previously had an encounter with Jesus. You can’t tell other people about Jesus if you haven’t encountered Him yourself.

Jesus feeds 5000 men with a small child’s lunch and in doing so teach us that God can turn the little we have to offer into something incredible.
