Jesus ends His prayer exactly where He began it, recognizing who God is which is fitting as the primary goal of prayer is to turn our attention off of ourselves and back on to God.

Temptations aren’t temptations if they aren’t difficult to resist. Jesus acknowledges this and recognizes our need for assistance in avoiding and escaping our temptations.

There is an inequity in our account. We all carry a debt we can never pay off. There is only one who can, and He did. In return, Jesus calls us to do the same for each other.

One of the most challenging things to do in this life is to trust in the provision of God, but at the heart of His prayer Jesus encourages us to do just that.

Jesus often talked about the Kingdom of God. To Him it was not a hypothetical far off place, but something that could be experienced in the here and now.

Prayer always begins with recognizing who God is and what God has done. This realization shapes and colors everything that follows.

Prayer can take on many different forms, postures and sounds. An active prayer life is essential to healthy spirituality, but it is also, paradoxically, one of the easiest things to neglect.
