The most illusive of the four Advent theme. How do we find peace in a world where so many situations and relationships seem to be anything but peaceful?

The nativity story is filled with good guys and bad guys and, most importantly, the hero we so desperately needed to come save us!

The notion that Christ’s return is far off in the future lulls us into a sense of complacency. But this time of waiting in not a time for doing nothing, it is an opportunity to accomplish the purposes of Christ in our lives and in our world.

The arrival of Jesus is not an exam we can cram for at the last minute. Partly because we do not know which minute will be the last, but more importantly because the only way to be ready for Christ’s arrival is to prepare for it each and every day.

If God’s reason for delaying Christ’s return is the desire to see everyone have their relationship with Him be restored, then our mission while we wait is to work toward that same end.

Our greatest tool in drawing people back toward God is by sharing the love and compassion of Christ with those around us on God’s behalf.
