Forgiveness is a hot commodity.  It is something we are all eager to have more of, but at the same time resistant to give more of.  How does our understanding of forgiveness impact our perspective on life?

Despite all their many differences, God’s people are united together by their common faith and their relationship with Christ

 God  provides us with new life complete with instructions on how that new life is best lived.

Our relationship with God shapes our relationships with everyone else.

When our focus is riveted to external standards we position ourselves toward self-righteousness and distance ourselves from the things that really matter to God.

To love the things of the world is to reject God.  To embrace Jesus is to deny worldly desires.  What will you choose to build your life upon?

When there is an imbalance in my life because I am indebted to you, my heart quickly begins to feel the weight of that debt in the form of a disease called anger.

What Others Expect from You – When Mary pours a bottle of expensive perfume on Jesus’ feet her actions do not meet everyone’s expectations of what she should be doing.

The Christian life is not lived in a vacuum which means at times it will not be easy.  There are forces that will challenge and work against our attempts to follow Christ.  Paul closes his letter with some advise on how to stand firm against those forces.
