The Curtain Opens

The first pages and chapter of a book are often some of the most important.  They set the scene, introduce the characters, and define the conflict that will drive the rest of the story.  The first three chapters of Genesis serve this same purpose.  In these chapters we not only read interesting stories but we are being introduced to the underlying narative of the entire Biblical text.
