Mission Work in Ghana

In the mid 1980's our youth group got involved with a fund raiser for orphan children through a Ministry called, Manna International . The enthusiastic effort by our youth captivated the attention of everyone else and so began a long history of joint participation in ministry to the poor in third world countries.

When the work of Manna International was discontinued our congregation was eager to continue the ministry we had begun with The Village of Hope, an orphanage just outside of the capital city of Ghana . For nearly three decades, the first Sunday in June has been set aside as our 'Day of Prayer and Purpose'. On this particular day each year we dedicate the morning service toward special focus on ministries at home and around the world that target some of the neediest situations.

The Village of Hope ministers to orphans and street kids by giving them safe places to live, food to eat and an education which will equip them to earn a living and have a meaningful life. In addition to education and health care the Village of Hope also offers various trades to help those who choose not to pursue further education after High School. The Village of Hope is a ministry of Churches of Christ in Ghana and continues to do outstanding work. We count it a privilege to be partners with them in this much needed ministry and to have the opportunity to share the financial burden of caring for some of the most needy children in the world.
